Project Skylab, 10 cents, Scott Catalog No. 1529, Issued in 1974

Skylab was designed from Apollo era hardware. There were a total of four launches. The laboratory, as a Saturn V, and three subsequent launches with a crew of three each. Each of these was a Command/Service Module,launched with a Saturn 1B booster.

This beautiful stamp is a mult-colored engraved design showing the partially deployed solar panels and the special thermal shield brought up on the first manned flight.
